Allow all apps (esp. Slack) to be considered a "source application"
For some reason, Choosy lets you pick some apps as a "source application" for rules, but ignores them. Slack is one example (and the one I find most frustrating).
You can create a rule that says "All of the following are true: Source application is "Slack.app". But even after deleting all other rules, a link clicked on inside Slack uses the default Choosy behaviour (in my case, popping up the list of browsers) instead of the rule behaviour.
I would like to be able to select Slack as a source application and have it work. Thanks!
16 votesSource application wasn’t working correctly for all applictions, but it’s now fixed in version 1.2
Note that for Slack specifically, you’ll still need to use the work around Philip wrote up in the comments (thanks, Philip).

Updated to El Capitan Public Beta 2. Trying to use Choosy's preference pane locks up.
I get the "click on Enable Choosy..." OK button locked so I can't enable Choosy.
Sigh...
24 votesThe popup reminding people to enable Choosy (which was buggy in El Capitan, and annoying even before El Capitan) has been removed completely in Choosy version 1.1.

In Yosemite GM3 - unable to see/edit rules in the advanced preferences
In Yosemite GM3 - unable to see/edit rules in the advanced preferences - when you go to the advanced preferences, the rule list is empty - however, there are rules their, and they work, you just cannot add to them or edit them.

Yosemite Beta OS X 10.10 (14A379b): Choosy will not work.
If I will open in the Preferences of Choosy 1.0.3 "Advanced" and open a Rule, I get since the new Update of Yosemite a message: Internal Error.
Sorry, the Message is in Germane and I am noct able to translate it
If I "edit selected rule" the windows open empty.
I installed Choosy at new, (with deleting the Preferences) but the same issue.
I will report the Bug also to Apple.
Is there any suggestion?8 votesChoosy 1.1 is working well with Mavericks and El Capitan.

Fix choosy helper not starting after Mavericks upgrade
Love choosy. After upgrade to Mavericks, choosy helper no longer starts automatically even though it is checked to do so in prefs pane. Have to open system preferences->choosy and then click the "start choosy helper". Then all works. Would just love it to start up automatically again.
11 votesThis should be resolved in Choosy version 1.1.

Is Choosy still under development?
Just wondering if the app is still alive, I loved using bit but Mavericks has been out a while with no news or updates that I can find.
10 votesYes, Choosy is still under development.
After a long hiatus, version 1.1 was just released. It has improved Mavericks and El Capitan support.

Sign Choosy for 10.8/Gatekeeper
10.8/Gatekeeper currently seems to preclude the use of Choosy by default. I’m unsure of whether preference panes can be signed with Gatekeeper the way applications can, but it would be very nice <3
Thanks for making a great utility!
7 votesChoosy version 1.1 is now using code signing.

Automatic routing to a specific browser based on domain
There is a windows program called pickBrowser that has this feature already implemented: You can customize in the settings that the program routes URLs based on their domain automatically to a specific browser without even showing the browser selection dialogue.
For example you can configure that all pages that belong to your intranet domain (e.g. intranet.ibm.com/) open in Safari, all Youtube links (based on the domain youtube.com) open in Chrome while the rest (where no explicit rule exist) will open the selection dialogue first.
Really helpful in a coroprate environment when you even want to avoid in certain situations that…
1 voteChoosy has supported this feature for a long time. You need to create specific rules under the “advanced” tab.

Fix the menu leak with pie menus.
When using pie menu display, the Real Memory allocation increases by about 3 megs each time you click a URL.
3 votesChoosy version 1.1 is using automatic reference counting for memory management, and has a much more stable memory profile.
I see less than 20MB of real memory after several days of use, and only a slight and temporary increase when we open the menu.

Add support for Chrome Profiles
They just hit the Beta Channel so this is an extremely early request!
http://chrome.blogspot.com/2011/11/take-your-chrome-stuff-with-you-in-new.html...but it'd be great if Choosy could somehow route link clicks to specific Chrome Profile windows.
Thanks, and keep up the great work, George!

Add payment options besides Paypal
I don't have a Paypal account and have no desire to create one after hearing bad things about it. However, I would still like to buy Choosy. You could use something like Amazon Payments or Google Checkout.
