Add support for Chrome Profiles
They just hit the Beta Channel so this is an extremely early request!
http://chrome.blogspot.com/2011/11/take-your-chrome-stuff-with-you-in-new.html
...but it'd be great if Choosy could somehow route link clicks to specific Chrome Profile windows.
Thanks, and keep up the great work, George!
Choosy 1.3 is out, which includes support for Google Chrome profiles and incognito mode.

Plugin doesn't seem to support multiple profiles.

Hey George,
how does this feature work? When opening an URL I'm presented with browsers only, but not with profiles.
Ideally I'd like to be able to select from different Chrome profiles as if they were different browsers.

Hi George, do you have any ETA or a beta version available? I really need this feature as I use three profiles to seperate work, private and a special project and would like to link it with the domainname to profile

a quick tutorial to get this working:
this example will be for chrome.
if you don't know the path to the profile you're using, type about:version in chrome's address bar.
the default location for chrome profiles is:
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chromefor example, the profile i'm using is here:
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Profile 2make a bash script wrapper for your browser of choice with desired parameters.
see https://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/my script: https://gist.github.com/ftc2/477b23c87101bb639978008cc56d001a
chrome-wrapper-profile2.sh
==========
#!/usr/bin/env bash
/Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --profile-directory="Profile 2" "$@"==========
now make it an application using Platypus
http://www.sveinbjorn.org/platypus
my settings: https://i.imgur.com/Mrd31Ki.pngnow put that wrapper app somewhere and select it as your browser in Choosy.
you should be good to go. good luck -

I've been looking for a tool like this for a while, but Chrome profiles is a deal breaker for me.

@georgebrock there are many people I refer to Choosy who use Chrome profiles and I can anticipate their question...the same question I have had for a couple of years now...when will Choosy support chrome profiles? Any chance you can give us an update on this?

I tried the suggestion of David Rees, and ran into some difficulties. The first is that the apple.stackexchange article mentioned confuses google users (cmd-shift-M, much like FireFox profiles) with the --user-data-dir option, which points to a directory one level up and separates an entire instance of chrome with all its user profiles from another. I will lobby to fix the stackexchange article so if I'm successful, future readers may notice it's no longer wrong. The second is that the wrapped copy of Chrome, although it is independent, has its own icon, and works correctly on its own, cannot open URLs sent from other applications, so it doesn't work with Choosy.
Here is an outline of what worked for me, choosy and all:
1) Copy my "Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome" to "Library/Application Support/Google/ChromePersonal"
(this is optional; I wanted to transfer over my Chrome User profiles to the new instance. But if you're OK starting fresh you can skip this, I think.)
2) Copy "Google Chrome.app" to another location. I used ~/Applications/Google Chrome Personal.app.
3) Modify this new version to add a wrapper script that passes the --user-data-dir= option pointing to the copied data directory from step #1, and execs the real binary
4) Modify the Info.plist in this new app to point to the wrapper script (CFBundleExecutable), and to have a unique CFBundleIdentifier. I also changed CFBundleDisplayName, CFBundleName, and CFBundleSignature; I'm not sure if these are required. -

Just came here to make the same suggestion. I use one profile for personal browsing, and another for work. Chrome seems to route links to the frontmost window (unless the frontmost window is on a secondary monitor, in which case it routes the link to the window on the primary monitor). So currently I go to Chrome, make sure the correct profile is in front, then go back and click the link. Would be great if Choosy could let me select the profile directly to avoid having to do this little dance each time. Thanks!

Chrome can be started with different profile folders, so multiple app "instances" can exist, with one for personal google a/c and another for corporate google a/c (for all practical purposes, they are like different browsers). It would be very useful to have support for this.

This is a feature I definitely want to see. Any ETA on when it'll be available? It's not really about plugins but rather supporting multiple profiles.
