Webkit and Safari: used to be recognized as different browsers on Beta, but not on the final version
There is some confusion on this new version, Webkit and Safari used to have different icons on Choosy wheel on beta, but after installing the final version today, only Safari is recognized. Webkit is on the list but it doesn't show up in any way. Clicking on Safari brings only the Safari window.
Also the new version of the wheel is hideous. Ok, it is fine to have some feedback on what URL is about to open, but the former version was WAY more elegant. I am trying to get used to it.5 votesResolved off list. Needed rebooting after upgrade.

Submit to http://www.apple.com/downloads
I think that you would get much more traffic if you sent this app to apple downloads. They get more than 50,000 downloads a day, so with people searching, you would become much more recognized.
1 voteI submitted the beta a while ago, but it wasn’t accepted (one of the conditions of acceptance is “adequate documentation” and I suspect that’s why). I’ve resubmitted 1.0 and it’s now listed: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/choosy.html

Camino used to run fine, now it crashes on load when Choosy calls for it!
This final version is more buggy than the beta? Camino now wont open if I use Choosy, keeps crashing. Doesn't matter if the app is already running or not. But only when I use Choosy to open it.
As Camino didn't update for quite some time now and Choosy just did I fear the bug is on your end.1 voteResolved off list. Needed rebooting after upgrade.

add something on the website that explains where the preferences are.

Support for multiple browser versions
I have Firefox 2, 3 and 3.5b4 installed for testing - they're each in my Applications folder as Firefox2.app, Firefox3.app, Firefox3.5b4.app - but Choosy only shows the latest version (3.5b4) in the browser list. Is it possible to make Choosy recognize multiple versions of a browser?
3 votesThis should work fine in version 0.9.3 or later. The browser list now stores the location of each browser app, prior to that it worked with bundle identifiers (e.g. org.mozilla.firefox) so two versions of the same app appeared to be the same thing.

simplify the menu bar icon
Although I really like the choosy logo when it's fairly large and in colour, it really doesn't work when compressed down to 16x16 in greyscale. It just looks like a random blob, which gives me a couple of seconds pause when I try to find it to modify a setting.
I'd suggest a smaller C with just the north/east/south/west arrows in a 2d style (but ... I am not a designer, so there's almost certainly a better idea ;).
3 votesAgreed, and forwarded to the icon designer this morning. Fast designer is fast:

add Shiira to the browser list
It seems that I can't add a specific browser to the list, so I would like you to add Shiira to be recognized automatically.
2 votesIn version 0.9.2 the browser list can be manually edited, so you can add Shiira and any other applications that you require.

queue up multiple links
When multiple links are sent to Choosy before the user has a chance to respond, only the last link actually makes it to the browser.
(This effect can be replicated easily by running "open http://google.com/ http://yahoo.com/" in a Terminal window.)
7 votesThere are several ways to fix this one, feedback from the community would be welcome. When there are queued links is it preferable for Choosy to:
a. Pop up several prompts, one after another (this can be confusing, especially if the “show URL in browser prompt” option is disabled)
Pop up one prompt and use the selection for every link in the queue (which could be annoying if you wanted them to go to different browsers or it meant some of your advanced behaviour rules weren’t triggered)c. Apply advanced behaviour rules but avoid multiple prompts by attempting to select for you, i.e. if a queued link is about to trigger a prompt and the browser used for the first link appears in that prompt then just use that browser (which could be confusing and leave users wondering why Choosy just did what it did)

stop cursor from dropping to screen bottom when invoked
Whenever Choosy is invoked, the cursor drops to bottom of screen. This means I need to move the cursor up-screen to select the browser I want to use to launch.
I am on a MacBook Pro with a dual monitor setup. So far, all clicks leading to Choosy have been from the primary screen. Anyone else seeing this bug.
9 votesThis only effects certain screen layouts. It is fixed and will be included in the next release.

Auto-update

modifier pressed gets expected result
say i want to open something in Safari...instead of getting the pop up window of browsers if i press opt-click on link it would open in Safari or something like that...i know that some have many browsers to choose from so having that huge selection every time can be annoying...i only have 2 at the moment and it get to be a pain...so the option to open in desired browser with a modifier key included in the click would be great...
2 votesThe advanced behaviour rules system (in version 0.9.3) allows you to set up modifier keys.

Make choosy appear in system preferences
I can't launch Choosy. It doesn't appear in System Preferences, and when I launch the file in the Finder it loads System Preferences, but no sign of Choosy.

allow user to hit return to open default browser selection
When Choosy pops up I notice that I instinctively strike the return key to open Safari (the default selection), but of course nothing happens. It would be nice if it did.
16 votesThis bug was related to the mouse not being over a browser icon when the prompt appears, so no browser was getting selected. The bug fixes in version 0.9.2 should correct this issue.

add option to open link/browser behind current application
Would like to be able to have the application I have engaged Choosy from remain active with the link/browser opening behind.
11 votesIn the next release any time a normal browser would have opened in the background, Choosy will do the same.
