  2. A short single click opens the link directly in default browser.
Only if the click is accompanied by a modifier (i.e. key combination), a prompt will appear.

The advanced behaviour rules system in version 1.0 will include modifier key settings. The next release is likely to include some limitted modifier key support as well.

  3. I want the ability to set a browser to be used, but only if it is open. If not, go to the next in the list and so on until hitting one with a browser already open.

If I don't already have the primary browser open and I want to view a link, I don't want it to open all the other windows from the previous session, which it will by default, to just see the new link. Instead, it should fall to a browser which is already open if there is one.

You probably want the “use best running browser” option. This will work it’s way down the browser list (top to bottom) and use the first running browser it finds. If this doesn’t provide what you need please elaborate in the comments, if not I’ll close this issue.

A simple menu bar icon/menu will be included in the next version: Clicking the icon shows a menu listing your browsers (with an indiciaion of which are already running) and gives access to Choosy’s settings.

  5. There should be separate options for setting Choosy as the default for links and setting Choosy as the default for HTML files.

  6. If the site was already open in a particular browser it should refresh rather than opening it again.

This is done, and will be included in the next Choosy release (version 0.9.1). The fix also applies to opening links from Mail while holding down the command key and other situations where the browser is meant to open in the background.

  9. It looks like Choosy only works with a single display. If I click a link within a window located on display #2, the transparent popup appears on the edge of display #1.

  10. I'm wondering if I'm using the latest beta, and nowhere in the interface does it show the version number. Adding it to the about pane in preferences would help.

  11. The circular menu's every-which-way presentation of browser names makes it very hard to see at a glance what you're getting and adds distracting visual clutter. Either it should have the names immediately underneath each icon, should only show the name when you hover over an icon (with the name located either below the icon or in some standard location like beneath the circle or in the middle), or should just show icons.
