As an option: open Chrome in new *window*, not a new tab in existing window
When clicking a link in e.g. Mail, it's horrible to be teleported to a workspace where I have other Chrome windows because Chrome insists on opening new windows in a new tab in a new window. This script used to work (and I was able to make Choosy use it), but now it ends up creating a second instance of Chrome (wow, had no idea that was possible with any Mac app!!). This new instance doesn't have my bookmarks and is not logged into the sites where the "original" chrome instance is logged in. That wasn't a problem before, It…

open link in current display for running browsers
when I click a link in slack that is open on display2 (I have it set to prompt) and click a new browser, it opens on display2. but if I click an already running browser (chrome) it seems to always open the webpage on display1 (main display w/ dock) regardless of if the last active browser window was on display2. This causes me to have to click the link then having to drag the page from display1 to display2 every time. (licensed user v2.1, mojave 10.14.6, chrome+firefox+safari)

Choosy 1.3 can't recognize custom Google Chrome profile directory
Choosy only recognizes Google Chrome's profile with "Default" or "Profile x" directories.
But a profile directory can be anything if you create it withprofile-directory
parameter.
For example:sh
$ open -a "Google Chrome.app" --args --profile-directory="foobar"
And I prefer this way because "Profile x" is not semantic.
Please support this case.3 votes -
whatsapp
The Whatsapp desktop client 0.3.1847 on OS Sierra 10.12.6 seems to ignore any rules completely.

Allow Choosy to target Chrome Apps as browsers
I have a Chrome app for web mail. It would be awesome if I could get Choosy to open links in that Chrome app. But I don't know if Choosy can see them as valid app/browser targets.

Paste link into new Terminal
It would be great if Choosy could open a Terminal window (or tab) and paste the link into that. I'm a developer, and it's a thing I do often manually.

Choosy 2.1 not working on macOS Mojave 10.4.6
I love the idea of Choosy - but I can't quite get it to fully work :(
What I'd like to happen is when I click on a link in Safari, the link gets opened directly in Firefox instead of as a new tab in Safari. The documentation suggests this is easy to accomplish, but no combination of settings that I've tried have worked (for any combination of browsers and rules). I've enabled the "Enable Choosy for links" option, and tried various flavors of rules, but nothing behaves differently.
It's worth noting that other core features of Choosy are working…

update Safari extension to recognize Choosy rules.
I have a rule set up to open urls to audio file types in QuickTime Player. It'd be great if the Choosy Safari extension could read my rules and intercept these URLs and do the right thing.

Improve performance
I really like Choosy. Just bought it. But I'd like to see it improve in performance. My super powerful MacBook Pro takes about half a second to open a link and display the browser. Without Choosy it happens in immediately. Any ways to achieve that? Kind regards Eric

Support for native os x notifications
I am using choosy with fluid and I would like it so when I click on os x's built in facebook notifications, my fluid facebook app opens. I was unable to find a way to achieve this via advanced rules, and even if it is possible, it would be nice if the "source application" rule were just "source" and one was allowed to select things that aren't considered applications (such as os x notifications).
In the meantime though, is there a way to achieve this with the current state of choosy?3 votes -
Choosy always displays the prompt even when my #1 browser is running
Choosy always displays the prompt even when my #1 browser is running. It didn't used to do this but it has been consistently acting this way for a while.

allow reordering of browsers in priority list by drag & drop
I'm sure this used to work, but it's broken in 0.93: dragging a browser entry just results in it flying back into place. Expected behaviour: the list is reordered.

Ability to add a rules from command line (ideally Alfred App)
Choosy is awesome but if you have a new rule, it's kind of a pain to add. I would love to see an easy way to add simple rule like: open this url in this browser from command line (which then can be wrap around an Alfred workflow)

Choosy Helper stops listening frequently
Using the Choosy browser plugin in Safari to switch to Chrome (typically when a site needs Adobe Flash), often the browser will report that it doesn't understand URLs of the type x-choosy… (etc). The helper is allegedly running according to the Preference Pane. Stopping and starting the helper restores normal operation.

Expand the width of text field in Custom rules
When you add/edit a custom rule to catch a web address containing a text, the text field has a fixed width which does not expand if the window is resized.
For long texts, one sees only a tiny bit.
Instead, the text field can just adjust to the window width to occupy as much space as possible.
I guess this is just a simple fix in the interface builder.

After upgrading to Mavericks it Choosey stopped working.
After upgrading to Mavericks, Choosey stopped working. I have been checking back for an update but then checked system preferences and found I just needed to launch the helper again. Not a problem once you know that's all that has happened but something you might want to know.
