Hi. Great program, Have been using it for years and it makes managing multiple browsers (one for general browsing, one for web programming, etc) easy. Unfortunately there is either a bug or I misunderstand the modifier key option. I want to use a custom key combo to trigger the ask for browser option but I have 2 issues: first, it always enters command shift and I can't change it; and second, the choose option triggers even if I don't press any modifiers! Am I missing something here? Thanks. Again, apart from that, great program!1 vote
The release notes for Choosy 1.1 say that it has Retina support, but when I click on a link that triggers the display of the browser prompt, the icons and text labels are still non-Retina.
Running Choosy 1.1.1 in Sierra 10.12.2.4 votes
In Sierra 10.2.2, Safari (10.0.2) systematically displays a dialog whenever I invoke "Open in Choosy" in the contextual menu:
"Do you want to allow this page to open Choosy?"
Is there any way to avoid that extra step every time?4 votes
I’m looking into it.
Make choosing browsers keyboard friendly with shortcuts 1,2,3,4 (etc) default behavior and allow users to modify with their own definable keys when the modal window comes up to choose a browser. Example I could see someone using f for firefox, c or gc for chrome s for safari, and so on. Since we have to choose a browser often in the beginning anyways before we setup a ton of rules, best make it as painless as possible.3 votes
works on 2014 mac pro, not on 2011 17", did the install the same way. Any ideas I really like this. I have 2 more macs, will try on them also and update.4 votes
Not sure what happened but after a Chrome restart, if I now try and select Chrome to open a URL, the choosy dialog graphic just moves down to where I clicked. I see the menu bar switch to "Google Chrome" however, so it seems like it's activating Chrome just not able to get the URL to it.
Is there a log file or something I might be able to look at to try and figure out what has happened? Is this a known issue at all?

I use different browsers by security domain: unauthenitcated, authenticated, sensitive. I have a separate keyring for sensitive domains. It is quite cumbersome to add many "webaddress contains" rules in the advanced tab. Improvments would be:
(a) pop up a window that will allow browser selection for the first time a domain is opened, and
(b) look up if a domain is listed in an unlocked keyring and select a default browser based on it.1 vote
I have just downloaded a trial of Choosy and would like to use it in conjunction with Alfred so that searches on Google Drive open up on Chrome. I use Chrome for my work activity on Google Drive and I use Safari for most of my other internet use. I have tried setting up a rule for the address drive.google.com in the preference pane but it still defaults to Safari.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clicking on notifications (like FB) don't always bring the running browser to the front even though the link is opened1 vote
Would really love a backup to Dropbox, Google Drive etc as I'd hate to lose my rules!!!
Storing rules in iCloud might also be a good solution for this.
In the short term, there is a file you can back up manually for your advanced rules: ~/Library/Application Support/Choosy/behaviours.plist
Does Choosy have a plist file which can be configured and packaged? We are looking at using Choosy in our enterprise but need to be able to deploy it. Any information you can provide on the location of configuration files/plists and under which profiles they are installed would be helpful

You're probably already considering this but just in case you aren't :)

One of the main differences between browsers on mobile platforms, in particular on OS X, is their energy consumption. Consistently using Safari for example can result in a difference in uptime of more than 2 hours, compared to Chrome. It would be great to have the option to choose a favorite / best browser based on the state of the battery or based on the fact if the laptop is currently charging or not.6 votes
Migrating from an old machine to a new machine, I have to manually set up all my rules again. It would be nice to be able to export/import rules and settings.3 votes
If I have any single browser running, I want to open links in that browser
If I have two or more browsers running, I want the Choosy prompt1 vote
Choosy is awesome but if you have a new rule, it's kind of a pain to add. I would love to see an easy way to add simple rule like: open this url in this browser from command line (which then can be wrap around an Alfred workflow)3 votes
sometimes an program tries to open an link, but i dont want to go there...
Please add an option to discard the link...
or is it possible to add an non existent browser?1 vote
If you’re using the browser prompt, then you can either press the ESC key, or just click outside of the prompt.
Does that solve the problem?
I am using choosy with fluid and I would like it so when I click on os x's built in facebook notifications, my fluid facebook app opens. I was unable to find a way to achieve this via advanced rules, and even if it is possible, it would be nice if the "source application" rule were just "source" and one was allowed to select things that aren't considered applications (such as os x notifications).
In the meantime though, is there a way to achieve this with the current state of choosy?3 votes
The Browsers Window and/or the advanced Window are empty or show parts of the before background.
I have 10 days for testing left - now (since Yosemite?) I have this issue1 vote
