Fix spawning of windows from Fluid
I am using Choosy at work, where I use Firefox for work stuff, Safari for personal stuff, and Fluid for Gmail. I have Choosy set to launch links from Entourage in Firefox and links from the Fluid/Gmail application in Safari. Works great -- except that it's spawning an extra window when I click on a link in Fluid. Can you fix?

Allow skinning of the browser selection dialog
It would be neat if we could really tweak the UI of the browser selection dialog. I'm thinking similar to the way QuickSilver allows different skins for their interface. This way, Choosy can really fit into the overall aesthetic the user has set up.

This is planned, but involved some fairly big changes to the way Choosy is built.

Apply advanced rules to expanded URLs
When clicking a shortened URL it would be great if the advanced rules could be applied to the expanded target.

Integrate macOS 10.13 Mojave Dark Mode functionality into the Choosy preference pane so that it flows seamlessly with the rest of System Preferences in Dark Mode.

Open in background
If open-in-background can be made to work reliably, it would be a great additional option for Advanced rules.

Option to Route All URLs through Choosy, including In-Browser
I would really appreciate the option for in-browser links to be routed through Choosy. I use many Site-Specific Browsers and I mainly bought Choosy to have it automatically direct to the appropriate SSB while using my main browser.
For example. I'd like to direct all YouTube URLs to an SSB of a specific account. If I I'm not paying attention, which is likely to happen eventually, I'll slip up and forget to open the url with Choosy.
I read an older comment that it was by design, but I think it's worth reconsidering. Choosy could default to the way it…

Repackage the app so the installer doesn't require Rosetta on M1 computers
I gather that Choosy 2.2.1 is a universal app and should run natively on M1 computers. However, the installer package requires Rosetta. Is there a way to repackage the app so I do not need to let the system install Rosetta?

option to lock to a specific browser from the menu bar
Ability to lock the browser choice to a particular browser selected in the menu item's menu, until disabled again. Choosy won't be shown when opening URLs, but the browser selected when locking is automatically chosen.

Open links clicked in Entourage in background instead of bringing browser to foreground
When I click a link from an email in Entourage, it brings the browser called by Choosy to the foreground. Would love to tell Choosy to always open links in the background

Lion 10.7: Cannot select Choosy as default browser
On Mac OS X Lion 10.7, I cannot select Choosy as the default browser. I can navigate to the preference pane, but it is greyed out and cannot be selected. This means that none of the links I click on get sent to Choosy!

Open link in browser in background broken in Mountain Lion
On Lion, when I Command-Clicked on a link in another app & then chose a browser in Choosy, that link would open with the browser remaining in the background.
This behavior appears to be broken in Mountain Lion. No matter what I do, when I Command-Click on a link in another app & select Safari, for instance, Safari immediately jumps to the foreground.
Any chance this can get fixed? Without it, Choosy is kind of annoying
instead of awesome, like it normally is. :)6 votes -
Choosy doesn't distinguish between standard Chrome and SSB Chrome
I'm using Chrome SSBs on Mac for sites like Gmail.
First, I'd like all links clicked in the Gmail SSB to open in the standard Chrome instance, without needing to right click and select "Open with Choosy".
Second, even when I do click "Open with Choosy", the link will open in the wrong chrome instance. Instead of opening in standard Chrome, as I selected, the link will open in one of the SSB Chromes.

Choosy to Chrome stopped working
Not sure what happened but after a Chrome restart, if I now try and select Chrome to open a URL, the choosy dialog graphic just moves down to where I clicked. I see the menu bar switch to "Google Chrome" however, so it seems like it's activating Chrome just not able to get the URL to it.
Is there a log file or something I might be able to look at to try and figure out what has happened? Is this a known issue at all?
I'm on Chrome 55.0.2883.95, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5).

fix that Choosy doesn't work for links in other applications
I installed Choosy. I gave it one simple rule, which is to open all links with a particular URL in a particular browser. It doesn't work.
I read through all of the documentation and couldn't find anything I'm doing wrong.
I tested first with "use choosy for links" not checked. But clicking on links just opens in my default browser, as usual. I tested next with "use choosy for links," which asks me if I want choosy to be my default browser. I said yes. But clicking on links results in nothing happening at all.
I tested by clicking links…
