Update for Yosemite?
When I try to enable Choosy in Yosemite (public beta, so I understand that it might not work yet), I get a notification from OS X asking if I want Choosy to be my default browser. I click “Continue", and the “General” tab in System Preferences.app loads, but Choosy is not enabled.
I left it far too long between updates, and the ship has kind of sailed on Yoesmite support.
The good news is that Choosy 1.1 has better compatibility with Mavericks and El Capitain.

I worked around the problem by adding a Login Item for the Choosy Helper (located at /Library/PreferencePanes/Choosy.prefPane/Contents/Resources/Choosy.app/).

Is Choosy still being developed? I keep trying to find anywhere on the forums that has any resolution in relation to Choosy not starting up automatically with Yosemite when the machine is restarted...but there's nothing from the developer. Choosy's helper still needs to be enabled each time a restart occurs.

On my released version of Yosemite, Choosy isn't in the list at System Preferences » General » Default Web Browser.
How do I select it?

When you select Choosy as default browser, this will work. However, after restarting your machine, Choosy is not enabled...you need to start the Choosy 'helper'

Oh, I should mention this behavior was observed with OS X Yosemite DP5.

I can verify this. Perhaps the browser default option is stored in a different way now? Disabling Choosy then re-enabling it gives you a system notification about the default web browser change... click "Continue" and you are sent to the General preference pane. Select "Choosy" as your default web browser. Then next invocation to open a link may prompt you before opening the Choosy helper app (the normal app quarantine dialog). Accept that and then it should work again.

Aha! If you want it to work in Yosemite, you just have to go to System Preferences » General » Default Web Browser and choose it there. That’s new.
