Update Choosy to bring web browsers to the forefront.
I can't believe this is the intended behavior, but when I click on a link, Choosy sends the link to the web browser but does not bring it frontmost. I can't imagine what setting this might be. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?

Does Choosy work in Mavericks 10.9.3 with Fluid?
I just downloaded both Fluid and Choosy today (6/17/2014). I've created a Fluid browser for Google and limited it to google.com addresses. I then set up a Choosy rule to open all links containing Google.com in that browser. I did not need ChoosyFluid to find the browser, it just showed up. Clicking a link to Google or typing a Google.com URL in the address bar of either Safari or Firefox opens the URL in the same browser. It does not activate the Google Fluid browser. On the other hand, if I type apple.com in my Google Fluid browser, Choosy prompts…

Allow me to open links from Notification Center in a specific browser.
When I click links in Notification Center I always want them to open in Safari instead of Chrome, but it's not an 'app' I can select from the rules tool.

Choosy doesn't distinguish between standard Chrome and SSB Chrome
I'm using Chrome SSBs on Mac for sites like Gmail.
First, I'd like all links clicked in the Gmail SSB to open in the standard Chrome instance, without needing to right click and select "Open with Choosy".
Second, even when I do click "Open with Choosy", the link will open in the wrong chrome instance. Instead of opening in standard Chrome, as I selected, the link will open in one of the SSB Chromes.

Choosy doesn't work in Safari
Choosy does not respond to ANY links in Safari.
If I click a torrent link, the torrent file is automatically downloaded to my downloads folder - I don't get to pick a torrent client to open it with.
If I click a magnet link, I'm not given an opportunity to select which torrent client I want to use, it always opens Transmission. This isn't an issue in Firefox - Choosy's popup window always appears and lets me choose.

Easier support for advanced rules by domain
I'm looking for a tool that will route URLs by domain. e.g., things in my internal corporate domain go to one browser, Facebook goes to fluid, everything else goes to my "preferred" browser. Awesomely, Choosy's advanced rules support this, but, it's actually pretty cumbersome.
The web address part is matching the whole URL, starting with the protocol, and ending with the path. So if I want to match all hosts in a given domain, without making a hole for malicious things like mallory.com/targetURL/1234, I need to use something like the following regexp:
^https?://([a-zA-Z0-9]+.)?facebook.com($|/.*)
It works, but it's really unwieldy. I'd…

After upgrading to Mavericks it Choosey stopped working.
After upgrading to Mavericks, Choosey stopped working. I have been checking back for an update but then checked system preferences and found I just needed to launch the helper again. Not a problem once you know that's all that has happened but something you might want to know.

Apply advanced rules to expanded URLs
When clicking a shortened URL it would be great if the advanced rules could be applied to the expanded target.

make it so that Choosy works with Archy.
There is a nice new Google Drive client named Archy. But when I use Archy and Choosy together, I cannot open links from Choosy, in Archy. It would be nice to get this to work somehow. Any ideas would be helpful.

Different options for left & right mouse clicks
I'd like to have it so that a left click uses the default system browser, and a right click brings up Choosy, or at least Choosy's browser list in the contextual menu. There seems to be no option for this in settings or advanced rules.

Choosy Helper stops listening frequently
Using the Choosy browser plugin in Safari to switch to Chrome (typically when a site needs Adobe Flash), often the browser will report that it doesn't understand URLs of the type x-choosy… (etc). The helper is allegedly running according to the Preference Pane. Stopping and starting the helper restores normal operation.

Add behaviour: do not prompt, stay in current browser
I only want to use the advanced behaviour rules but I can't use that without constantly being promted in other browsers.
Solution: add a behaviuor option: do not promt, stay in current browser.

Support for all document types
I love choosy, but I would love it even more if I could use it for all document types, not just hyperlinks. It would be nice if the user could define the file extension(s) and relavent applications, and then customize the preference as with the current choosy. This would be especially useful for .doc .pdf .mp3 etc...

Bug? - View in (null)
The Reeder app was recently updated and I've noticed that the Context Menu item for Choosy is now "View in (Null)" instead of "View in Choosy" I don't'know if this is an issue with Choosy or Reeder, but thought I'd point it out in both support forums.

Open link in browser in background broken in Mountain Lion
On Lion, when I Command-Clicked on a link in another app & then chose a browser in Choosy, that link would open with the browser remaining in the background.
This behavior appears to be broken in Mountain Lion. No matter what I do, when I Command-Click on a link in another app & select Safari, for instance, Safari immediately jumps to the foreground.
Any chance this can get fixed? Without it, Choosy is kind of annoying
instead of awesome, like it normally is. :)6 votes -
