  1. I'm trying to get my ms teams links (I click these several times a day) I can point to the app and open the meeting. currently this opens the app but does not deep link to the meeting I just have to go via a browser which then leaves a window open.

I found this on a different product but I'm not about to switch just for this feature.. be nice if it worked though :)

    https://github.com/johnste/finicky/issues/137

    love the product btw

  2. If, for example, I type in a GitHub URL or click on a link in the browser that points to a GitHub URL, and I have Choosy set up to open GitHub URLs in a different browser (such as a single-site browser), it would be nice if the Choosy extension could automatically capture that URL and open it in the specified browser, rather than depending on me clicking the Choosy toolbar icon.

    Does this make sense?

Basically, links in the browser should behave like links in, say, Mail, and open in the correct browser rather than just the browser you're…

  3. When setting up a rule, if the resulting action ends in "...", the interface does not make clear what the user should do to finish the setup process. The simplest way to make the interface clearer would probably be to change the text on the "Change" button to something like "Pick" or "Choose", and perhaps use a placeholder with text like "No browser chosen" where the browser icon and browser name would be once a browser has been chosen.

If you were to redesign the interface a little bit more, it might make sense to make the entire area below…

  4. Hi,

Office 365 an may be other have something link "secure links" which changes the incoming to a verification services. Problem with that links that they are not my configured rules.

So it would be nice to add custom url shortener services which Choosy can use to expand urls.

  5. When I try to add a Google account to an app like Fantastical, the oAuth link results in a 400 Error when Choosy is used to pass the URL to the browser.

For example, when using Choosy to pass the link from Fantastical to Safari, the requested URL starts with "https://accounts.google.com/signin/oauth/legacy/consent?authuser=0&part=blahblahblah....."

This URL results in a 400 Error ("The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.").

When I disable Choosy, and just have the link open in the default browser, the URL passed looks different. It looks…

  6. I love that Choosy supports individual Chrome profiles. Unfortunately the feature does not work with Google Chrome Beta or Google Chrome Canary. Would it be possible to support profiles in those browser variants as well?

  8. I'd love to be able to sync the rules between multiple machines so I don't have to re-create rules on my desktop, laptop, etc.

  11. When opening a page in Firefox, Firefox will spawn an additional new window (set to whatever is the preference of "Firefox Home" or blank page). This happens when Firefox isn't running aka is a cold start. The Firefox preference "open links in tabs" solves this problem, but only if Firefox is running.

This is seen on macOS Big Sur running the latest version of all the apps.

  12. I think this started when I upgraded Firefox. I just updated Choosey to 2.2.1 and I see the same behavior. Any link I try to follow via Choosey, when I select Firefox, it goes to my default Firefox homepage instead of the intended link. This doesn't happen w/ Safari.

  13. It would be very useful to be able to open any URL from anywhere in macOS within Choosy via a macOS Share extension.

This feature would have the added bonus of making the Choosy Safari extension optional.

  14. I've configured Mac OS X Big Sur to use Choosy 2.2.1 as my standard browser. In Choosy, I've got a rule to open a website with my favorite browser. But that doesn't work. Links are not opened anymore.

I’ve not had any reports of problems in Big Sur other than the few comments here, and Choosy is working fine for me on Big Sur on both Intel and M1 Macs.

Can anyone provide any further detail beyond “it’s not working”?

  15. since updating chrome to latest version today (86.0.4240.198) - the responsiveness from clicking on links and choosing the browser to the link being opened in chrome has been really slow!
any ideas? is it just me?

  17. Usually I want my links to open in whichever browser I was using most recently so that would be a great default behaviour.

  18. Is this possible atm?
I've tried Advanced section with Download Shuttle, by setting rule if web address ends in zip or dmg or iso, but Safari just downloads the file and Choosy does not intercept and parse to Download Shuttle.

    Ideas?

  19. Could you add the option to send links to Instapaper and other similar bookmarking services? When we're in a browser, we can easily do that (especially with browser plugins) but this is not an option in non-browser apps. For example, it would be nice to open a link from my mail client and send it directly to Instapaper.

  20. The preference sheet for advanced rule editing allows itself to be resized, but the input field for "Web address contains" rule is fixed in size. It should resize in response to the sheet size.
