  1. Migrating from an old machine to a new machine, I have to manually set up all my rules again. It would be nice to be able to export/import rules and settings.

    Storing rules in iCloud might also be a good solution for this.

    In the short term, there is a file you can back up manually for your advanced rules: ~/Library/Application Support/Choosy/behaviours.plist

  3. Choosy should ue this rule when all of the following are true: Modifier keys are, When this rule is used Choody should: Always use this browser... Opera Beta

  4. Choosy is causing 1Password 7 (latest version) to crash. So I've had to disable Choosy. Would love it if you could test it with 1Password and find a fix. Thanks.

  5. Hi. I purchased Choosy years ago and stopped using it for a reason I can't remember. But I downloaded it again today and I was happy to find out that my license is still valid.

    Anyway, I have a suggestion for the Behaviour options.

    Right now there are only options for "When one or more browsers are running,.."

    However, I'd like there to be separate options for when one browser is running and for when more than one browser is running.

    For instance, I normally just have Safari running as my only browser. When Safari is the only browser running,…

  9. Choosy only recognizes Google Chrome's profile with "Default" or "Profile x" directories.
    But a profile directory can be anything if you create it with profile-directory parameter.
    For example:
    sh
    $ open -a "Google Chrome.app" --args --profile-directory="foobar"

    And I prefer this way because "Profile x" is not semantic.
    Please support this case.

  10. One of the main differences between browsers on mobile platforms, in particular on OS X, is their energy consumption. Consistently using Safari for example can result in a difference in uptime of more than 2 hours, compared to Chrome. It would be great to have the option to choose a favorite / best browser based on the state of the battery or based on the fact if the laptop is currently charging or not.

  12. It would be great if you could make FileMaker google oauth play nice with a secondary browser, e.g. Vivaldi. I get as far as getting the rule to work: w.o.w. Vivaldi opens, automatically accepts, FileMaker continues the login... but Vivaldi stays open with the window open as well. And this is exactly the outcome that I want to avoid. After 10 auths there are windows all over the place. It would be nice if the operation works just like the browser is the default browser: if it is not open, it starts, opens the auth window, authenticates, closes the window,…

  13. Somehow I ended up pasting a new line into what ends up in the predicate value in behaviors.plist. This causes the "Could not load Choosy preference pane." error and prevents any links from being routed. I removed the offending newline and all is well again.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <array>
    <dict>
    <key>behaviour</key>
    <integer>6</integer>
    <key>behaviourArgument</key>
    <string>/Applications/Splunk.app</string>
    <key>enabled</key>
    <true/>
    <key>predicate</key>
    <string>URL CONTAINS "sv2splunk.business.local" OR URL CONTAINS "Seth Wessitsh [16:01]
    splunk.business.local"</string>
    <key>title</key>
    <string>Splunk</string>
    </dict>
    </array>
    </plist>

  15. Hi. Great program, Have been using it for years and it makes managing multiple browsers (one for general browsing, one for web programming, etc) easy. Unfortunately there is either a bug or I misunderstand the modifier key option. I want to use a custom key combo to trigger the ask for browser option but I have 2 issues: first, it always enters command shift and I can't change it; and second, the choose option triggers even if I don't press any modifiers! Am I missing something here? Thanks. Again, apart from that, great program!

  16. The release notes for Choosy 1.1 say that it has Retina support, but when I click on a link that triggers the display of the browser prompt, the icons and text labels are still non-Retina.

    Running Choosy 1.1.1 in Sierra 10.12.2.

  18. I use different browsers by security domain: unauthenitcated, authenticated, sensitive. I have a separate keyring for sensitive domains. It is quite cumbersome to add many "webaddress contains" rules in the advanced tab. Improvments would be:
    (a) pop up a window that will allow browser selection for the first time a domain is opened, and
    (b) look up if a domain is listed in an unlocked keyring and select a default browser based on it.

  19. Hi

    I have just downloaded a trial of Choosy and would like to use it in conjunction with Alfred so that searches on Google Drive open up on Chrome. I use Chrome for my work activity on Google Drive and I use Safari for most of my other internet use. I have tried setting up a rule for the address drive.google.com in the preference pane but it still defaults to Safari.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks
